About Us
Our Aim and Services We Offer
Sedum's aim is to provide education and therapeutic services to special children including speech therapy, physiotherapy, psychological sessions, music therapy, blind department and daily living skills. We also train the parents to carry these services at home. We provide free of cost books, copies, stationary items and uniform to all students. In addition, the school also has 5 school vans to ease conveyance problems of students.
Criteria for Students Selection
Sedum is a multidisability institute. Whenever any student comes to us, he/ she is assessed by our panel of doctors and therapists. Diet plan is shared and parents are also instructed ways to cater children at home. Daily therapies, brain development activities, relaxing activities and monitoring of all the services is done according to the disability and needs of students.
Achievements
Sedum's achievements include Saima Ammar award for best special school by Ms Saima Ammar who herself is blind by disability and has served the blind community alot. Ex President of Pakistan, Mr Arif Alvi has also recognised us by inviting us to the president house and presenting with an award. Australian High commissioner has also visited and appreciated our work. We have featured many times in Radio Pakistan. In addition to these, Housing societies like Rudn Enclave and Capital Smart city have also sponsored us many times and our students actively participate in their CSR activities and related events.
Membership with Special Olympics Pakistan
In addition, Sedum School is a member of Special Olympics Pakistan from 5 years. Our students have won several medals including gold, silver and bronze in football, floorball, basketball, tennis, running, swimming, painting and other games. Our student Huzaifa Khan is a national winner and medal holder for Quaid e Azam games. Another student Adeel Aqeel won bronze medal in the World Special Olympics game held in Berlin, Germany. Also, several students are part of inclusive games which supports inclusion of normal children with special children in games.
